Winter is a month around the corner, and most of you will be getting on the road in a few weeks (or you may have been lucky enough to get out of town already), so I wanted to let you know about some of the best parks with tons of great amenities to add to your overnight stay destinations down in the southern half of the U.S.
Houston East RV Resort
Baytown, TX
Complete with 144 back-ins and pull-thrus, Houston East RV Resort has plenty to offer in and around the park. Nearby Mont Belvieu is home to Eagle Pointe Golf Club, a gorgeous 18-hole championship golf course. Several restaurants and museums/nature centers are just a short drive away, as well as the beautiful Yepez Vineyard. Check out the link above for more details on our website.
Westwind RV & Golf Resort
Yuma, AZ
They’re big rig friendly (≤ 45ft), pet friendly, and there’s countless activities to choose from. With over 100 planned activities, a 9-hole golf course, karaoke and weekly live music, the word “bored” is illegal here. Kick your feet up by the heated pool, or hit one of the nearby ATV trails. There really isn’t enough time in the day at Westwind. For more details, click the link above.
Creekfire RV Resort and Campground
Savannah, GA
I’ve never had my own private fire pit, but I might be able to check that one off at Creekfire. Most spots are over-sized and can accommodate rigs up to eighty feet. There’s a hot tub, heated pool, they bring in live music acts every weekend, this place is top notch, but it would be negligent of my former child self to not mention the lazy river and kid’s splash pad. Check out the link above.
Majestic Oaks RV Resort
Biloxi, MS
At Majestic Oaks, you can relax in the shade of the long rows of lofty oak trees and kick back by the pool, then take the park’s shuttle down to the Treasure Bay Casino and see if you can win yourself some gas money. Majestic Oaks offers every bit of southern hospitality. More details in the above link.
Wekiva Falls RV Resort
Sorrento, FL
https://passportamerica.com/campgrounds/data/4271/Wekiva-Falls-RV-Resort-A-Treehouse-Community/1#top
Located thirty minutes from Disney and right by a nice and easy canoeing spot, Wekiva is all over the spectrum. The sulfur spring cannot go without mention, being that they have a built-in waterfall. It’s the perfect spot to let the kids be kids while you relax in the Florida sun. Look at some of the photos in the link.
If you visit any of these parks over the winter (or any Passport America parks for that matter)
