The Perfect Winter Getaway: Ja-Mar RV Resort in Port Richey, Florida

Pronounced “Jay-Mar”. This classic, top-tier resort is a family-owned and operated business, and that will become clear when you experience this park for yourself. All great customer-oriented businesses have a key common attribute: attention to detail, and that is something Lonnie Miller has made sure to stay on top of since opening Ja-Mar in 1975, and what his family is certainly continuing to instill in their management of the park today. Not only are they a top-tier resort, Ja-Mar was one of the first parks to join our network at Passport America. Let’s take a better look at what this resort has to offer.

The weather at Ja-Mar RV resorts is mostly sunny. In the winter you can expect temperatures in the 70’s during the daytime hours and cooling down in the evenings. The summer temperatures range between 80-95 degrees with evening sunsets around 75.

Located in Port Richey, Florida, Ja-Mar sits just west of U.S. Route 19, a six-lane highway stretching down the gulf coast. This resort has several amenities to keep your visit as convenient as possible. Being that this resort is mostly populated by snowbirds, it has a very active community with typically 10-12 activities every day. On most days, you can join some other residents on a golf outing at one of the 10 nearby golf courses and come back to the park for a line-dancing class to brush up on your steps. Their in-house band provides exciting entertainment many nights while you kick back with a cold drink or burn up the dance floor.

Situated around the resort, mostly along US-19, are numerous bars, restaurants, shopping areas such as the Gulf View Square Mall, and other forms of entertainment like dinner theaters, movie theaters, and mini-golf. If you’re looking to watch a game, play some pool, or find live music outside the park, Pub 52, Bobkatz, and Overtime Sports Bar & Grill are all great options within a few minutes away by foot or vehicle. Just 25 minutes south of Port Richey lies Tarpon Springs, a Greek sponge fishing village boasting a lot of interesting history. At the docks, you can find several Greek restaurants and other eats. According to many of the current and past Ja-Mar residents, Tarpon Springs is a must-visit.

SPECIAL NOTICE: Your Passport America discount is valid at Ja-Mar year round with no maximum length of stay!
