Having a side gig on the road is always a great way to keep you in a routine and keep the gas tank full, but what’s wrong with earning a little scratch at a nice, cozy blackjack table while you let your rig rest in at the lot? Stay and play casinos are my new favorite thing, and I’ve been looking forward to telling you all about them.
Lakeside Hotel & Casino – Pahrump, NV
Pahrump is settled just one hour west of Las Vegas, and you should also settle there for a night or two or three. Lakeside RV Park provides 159 RV sites, pull-thru and back-in, full service hookups, and a casino just five minutes up NV-160.

The Pahrump Nugget casino features all of your favorite table games, card games, and slots, but they also have my personal, risk-averse favorite – bingo. You’ll also find plenty of bartops full of TVs to watch whatever game you’re looking for.
Pechanga Resort & Casino – Temecula, CA
Pechanga sits in Temecula, California, an inland city between Los Angeles and San Diego. This resort is known for “The Cove”, a 4.5 acre swimming and outdoor lounge area (hot tubs and kid pools included), beautiful landscaping, and food/drinks just a few steps away. Don’t forget to tell your kids about the water slide too.

The Pechanga Summit, a 40,000 sq ft ballroom attached to the hotel, hosts many famous acts including one of my personal favorites, The Go Go’s, on 3/27 of this year (you might know their song Vacation). The Temptations and The Four Tops are also featured a few nights later on 3/30, no big deal.

The casino caters all that you want, a farm of slot machines that extends to the horizon and lively table games littered in between. The more you look into Pechanga, the more you’ll find; it’s an exciting place.
Paragon Casino & Resort – Marksville, LA
In all good conscience, the first thing I have to mention about Paragon is the grilled oysters and the shrimp at The Draft Room, Paragon’s main sports bar with several TVs and a beer selection that leaves no beer fan behind. America has some incredible food all over the nation, but Louisiana consistently does something memorably different. The Draft Room is a nice casual spot with a crowd-pleaser menu, but I can guarantee you’re going to love all of the upscale options too. You can check out the menu here.
Paragon is located in Marksville, Louisiana. While not close to an interstate, it holds everything you need, especially at the RV park. You’ll have all hookups available plus free WiFi and cable. The park has 200 spots as well as an area with cabins, and your kids will have a pool and playground to use.

The food selection at Paragon spreads across all levels of formality, such as the upscale Legend’s Steakhouse, as well as the comfortable and very nostalgic Roxy’s Diner. In addition to the aforementioned Draft Room, you can find Atrium Bar in the lobby, Market Place Buffet, Café Paragon, Gator Coffee Co., and Bon Temps Daquiris, all within the resorts walls.
Last but not least, the 72,000 square foot casino has everything you want to play and more – 1,000 slots, over 35 table games, poker, video poker, and a state-of-the-art sports book located at The Draft Room.
